wow! been a while

well as I sit here enjoying my glass of Chardonnay I realized I have not been on here for a while.  Believe me there are good reasons.    Halloween is such a big holiday in our house and we have been busy getting ready for our annual Halloween party.  Trying to get my adorable hubby to find a costume that is "just right"  was  a trick that we have finally accomplished.  YAY!  My costume is still laying in pieces waiting patiently to be assembled.  I am going as Marie Antionette after the beheading!  So daily I have sought out the perfect dress for the ensemble and finally caved and realized I just have to sew one.     Staring at the pieces today made me realize this is going to be one amazing costume!  Or was it when I was standing in my living room with my top half wrapped in duct tape?  Nothing kinky here I was making a torso for my headless costume!    So to all my friends out here in blog land that is what I have been working so hard on lately!  I hope to have more stuff up soon for you to enjoy!

Christmas Bulb Boys

I have to attach the hangers and paint the top nub black but these guys are really coming along nicely!  The green and blue ornaments are 4" tall by 2" wide and the big angry pink guy is 4.75" tall by 2.5" wide.

I also wanted to experiment with layering clay over old christmas bulbs and came up with this little red guy.  This one is 3" tall by 1.5" wide.  You can see the size difference here and I will add the sealant to this one most likely tomorrow.

Hope you all enjoy these as much as I have been.  :  )

Ah the joys of overuse!

So I bought some air dry clay and I have been playing with it non-stop. Yesterday I realize my thumb has been super achey on my right hand.  My dominant hand!  Then I noticed that I have some acute swelling in my right forearm!  Awesome!  I thought I would wait it out and see if it goes away but today still there.  So now I have been ordered by my hubby to take a break from clay for a few days and see if that helps the overuse injury!  Ah the things we do for our craft!  So that is where I am right now.  No painting, or sculpting :( for a few days to maybe get this injury healed.  Oh well at least I can spend some time with my attention starved doggie Reeses.

Anyone else ever expierience anything like this?

Have a good day

Some new stuff and a finished Hagatha

Well gang she is done.  I tried to sculpt her hat and it just looked well rediculous so I decided to sew one.  She is indeed happy with the results.

Alos I am currently working on some figurines for my kids of them in their Halloween costumes.  They are in all stages of sculpting right now and I am attempting to use air dry clay for the first time ever!

I hope you enjoy them and thanks for stopping by!

Nightmare Before Christmas Ornaments

My favorite characters from that movie definately are Lock, Shock, and Barrel.  As I sat watching this movie this evening I decided I wanted to capture them in clay.  This is my tribute to Tim Burton who's art inspires me everyday!  My 10 year old is an expert in all things Tim Burton and these come with her seal of approval.  "Mommy, these are AWESOME!"  Thanks Kiwi!  Love ya!

Enjoy!  They will be on Etsy tomorrow, the whole set will be listed at $30.00.
